Evening Snatch-fans! Well it's been a while hasn't it. And what a bitch of a year too. It goes without saying that all our gigs have been cancelled for the time being. Even when pubs re-open their doors later this year, who knows when they'll have live entertainment back on. At least one of us has toyed with the idea of an online gig via Zoom or Facebook or some such but, as yet, nothing has come of it. If anybody is reading this and thinks it'd be a good idea, reach out and let us know. Until then, stay safe and alert, don't drive to Barnard Castle and we'll see you as soon as we can.

Evening all! Welcome to what is now, your annual Snatch news update. My lord we've been busy. It's become a sad fact that the website has been neglected of late. It's been easier to update Youtube, Twitter and Facebook (or YouTwitFace if you prefer). Anyway, Snatch gigs were a bit thin on the ground last year due to one thing and another, and for that we apologise and decided to make 2018 the year of the Snatch (which sounds worse than it is). We are pretty much already booked up this year, and over the next few days or so, we'll try to update the gig page to show how much so. We made a conscious decision as a band a few years ago to limit the amount of weekends we play, so we can still enjoy a healthy family and social life and enough time apart so we didn't kill each other. That being said, there are some excellent, high profile gigs in the diary for this year, not least of which will be our 10th anniversary blow out. Yes folks, Snatch is 10 years old this October, and to celebrate we are going to try to get as many people to one gig as is humanly possible for us. So watch this space for more info on the Year of the Snatch!

Cripes! This is getting to be a habit. New Year resolution. Try to keep on top of the Snatch IT side of things up to date. We do of course also have the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube feeds (well it is 2017 for heaven's sake) We had a pretty good 2016 with some excellent gigs to be had, particularly the Dog & Otter (pictured), the Greyhound and Barnoldswick and the Castle and the Swan, both in Clitheroe. Many thanks if you came to support us at any of those gigs. We are looking to make 2017 the year of the Snatch and will post any of the upcoming gigs on all our social media platforms as well as here. We're always looking to add media to the YouTwitFace accounts so if you have any videos or pictures of the band that you don't mind sharing, please get in touch. As ever, if you know of any pubs or music venues in your area that are looking to book bands, please spread the word and let us know. Peace and love til next time.

Whoa! Has it really been a year since we provided you with an update? A lot's happened in that year and we are about to sit down and chart the future of Snatch, so with a bit of luck and a strong wind, you'll get some regular updates this year. We hope to shake the set list up a bit so you won't see the same one twice and we're also looking to travel further afield and try to book into some venues we've never had the chance to play before. There may also be a website upgrade this year but no promises. Some new songs will be making their début this year and some old ones resurfacing. In short , we're still around so keep an eye on the news and gigs sections as well as the Facebook page for any upcoming events. Peace.

So, three months after our last update, we thought we'd better let you know what was going on. The Dog and Otter gig on what shall henceforth be known as "Snatch Saturday", was a perfect end to the year for us. A fantastic turnout, amazing reception and a not too shabby Snatch made for a memorable evening. It'll be tough to top that but over the last couple of months we've been working to bring in some new material, rest some older stuff and generally enhance the show for your listening pleasure. A full run down of the public gigs already booked for this year is on the gigs page so feel free to get down to as many as possible. On top of that, we've several weddings, birthday bashes and possible appearances at local (and not so local) festivals. It all adds up to the Year of the Snatch. In the meantime, stay safe and keep Snatchin'.

Well, by crikey. It's been a while since we've been here, but finally, an update from us.
Summer came and went and gigs at Burnley (see below), Barnoldswick and Rishton have got us ready for the season of goodwill. Only two gigs in December for us - one private, one public - and they are:
TNT Ramsbottom's Christmas Do on 13th December (the private one) and the week after at the Dog & Otter in Great Harwood (details on the gigs page). We hope to see as many people as possible turn out for the latter and enjoy our Christmas gift to you. Til then, be careful, or if you can't be careful, be good.

Couple of bits of news on the gig front. Snatch have been asked to play for Burnley Light Opera's 80th anniversary bash on 27th September at Burnley Mechanics. As a former member of BLOS it's both an honour and a pleasure to perform for this auspicious occasion. But before that, Snatch return to the scene of the crime, so to speak. We'll be playing at the Greyhound (the Dog) in Barnoldswick on July 27th. Video from the last gig can be seen in the section below . We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at that gig. Til then, stay classy, Snatchfans.

The last couple of weeks have seen a brace of highly enjoyable gigs from the Snatch boys. First up was our debut appearance at the Greyhound in Barnoldswick on a dark and stormy June evening. Despite the horrendous weather, there was a massive turnout which proved to be one of our most receptive audiences ever! The videos we post on here or Facebook or YouTube are generally of the bands perfromance to give you an idea of what we do. However, on this occasion, it's worth seeing the audience reaction at the Greyhound at the link here. Massive thanks to the Greyhound and it's clientèle for their support.
Next was Snatch's appearance at the inaugural Dogstock festival at the Dog & Otter. Again, despite the weather, the day had a good turnout with some great acts and also managed to raise a good amount for their chosen charity. A taste of the evening can be seen here and hopefully it'll be the first of many Dogstocks.

Snatch are honoured to be involved with the Dog & Otter's inaugural "Dogstock" weekend on the 14th and 15th of June. A weekend of live music and entertainment from no less than 12 acts and Snatch will be headlining the Saturday night. Great entertainment, food and booze and all for charity. For more information check out the Dog & Otter's website and Facebook page.
Then, in another groundbreaking first, Snatch will be playing at Baggies Wine Bar in Great Harwood on Sunday 6th July. We'll be doing 3 or 4 sets during the course of the day starting at 4pm ish and finishing late that night. More details to follow.
Until then, keep the faith, keep music live and keep on rockin'!

Howdy Snatchfans. It's been a few weeks since the Station gig (see our set up in the pic, left) and we are happy to report another storming one with a fantastic audience in attendance. The 5 new songs we debuted were Sgt Rock, Eton Rifles, Dreaming Somebody Told Me and I Predict a Riot. All but one have remained in for our next gig at the Dog & Otter (see gig page) and will be joined by another 2 or 3 new ones (we're having a real purple patch with new material), but again, we don't want to spoil the surprise for our regular legion(?) of supporters. So hopefully we'll see you there, and if you have something to ask or tell us, don't be shy. The Facebook, Twitter and e-mail links are all at the top of the page. Drop us a line.

Where have we been?! Well, nowhere really.
It was a busy December for the Snatch boys, what with Christmas do's, 50th birthday bashes and one of the best gigs we've played to date . That was at the Dog & Otter on the last Saturday before Christmas, and it's not an understatement when we say, the joint was jumpin'. Thanks to Dom and Becky for having us and hopefully it won't be too long before we're back there.
January is always a gig free zone for us, allowing rest and recuperation from the previous busy period and also because each and every member of the band has a January birthday. Freaky, huh?
Which brings us to February and the here & now. A bountiful rehearsal period has yielded 5 new songs (which we won't divulge just yet) and some fiddling with the set lists. As always, it's a difficult task to decide what to drop and what to keep. Some numbers have run their course and others seem to go down better with us than with the audience. It's a fine balance to keep it interesting to play but still enjoyable for the crowd. These new songs will be premiered at the Rishton Arms in March (see Gigs page), which has become our crucible of sorts when it comes to gauging responses to new material.
Hopefully, we'll see you there.

Snatch celebrated their fifth anniversary this weekend aided and abetted by rentacrowd (TM). The event took place mainly at the Forts Arms in Clayton where much ale was consumed and the world was put to rights.

Snatch related news:
The Dog & Otter in Great Harwood (aka the spiritual home of Snatch) re-opened on Thursday night. After a productive rehearsal (two new songs), Snatch celebrated with a pint or two at the Dog. Not sure about that mural though.

Last weekend saw Snatch fulfill something of an ambition. We played our first open air festival gig at Cobfest 2013. The set lasted just over an hour and included some of our favourites as well as two new numbers; Magazine's "Shot by Both Sides" and The Police's "Message in a Bottle". A fantastic night was had by all and to get a taste of the evening, go to the YouTube link above. There you'll find a couple of videos from the latter end of the set. Enjoy!
